Grayed

Mirror mirror on the wall,
it is true – you can’t stop time.
I have gone from my second decade to my fourth,
unnoticed, it flies swifter and now I see-
things as ends, and long for new beginnings.
Inescapable truth however, soon my days are numbered.
The darkness may never hide, the faded color of my eyes.
Mirror mirror can’t you see,
I am still me, I am still me.
My heart says I can run,
my soul can still fathom the sea,
to feel the warmth of happiness in my dreams,
a reflection of life, can I hide,
from your prying eyes?
Mirror, let me be who I am
and make my spirit fight,
until the curtains call it a night…
